Notes:
-During the King Philip's War, his town of Sudbury was attacked by
Native Americans and he suffered losses which he estimated at 60 pounds.
-His wife Sarah died Jan 12, 1701/2 and his second wife is possibly
the Mary Allen who died in 1727.
-Left a will dated 3 years before his death
-His father Walter was a habadasher selling hats, and was in New
England by 1640 at the latest. Walter was born about 1601 as he took an
oath in 1677 stating he was 76 years old. He died in Charlestown, Mass
on July 8, 1681. His will survives and he names his children, including
John. His estate was valued significantly, at over 3000 pounds.
