Notes:
-In 1700 a member of the first military company of Taunton, Mass.
-"Representative men and old families of southeastern Massachusetts"
says he was the son of William and Sarah (Macumber) Briggs, and probably
the granndson of Clement Briggs. However, the probate record of Jonathan
Briggs lists Amos among his sons. He received his distribution of the
estate of his father on March 30, 1709.
