- His father is sometimes given as George Brown. Vol 12 of "Essex
Antiquarian" gives Henry Brown of Salisbury as his father. Other works
give his mother's name as Christian and state that she traveled without a
husband to New England with her sons. I have seen no evidence for any of
the above scenarios. His wife died Aug 23, 1702 (Salisbury Vital Records
as "Abigell Brown, wid."
