Notes:
- When 23 years old, his father passed away, and John continued the
same family trade (clothier). He worked manufacturing wollen fabrics, and
was widely successful. He married the daughter of the village vicar.
- On May 23, 1635 they left Bristol, New England with a fleet of
ships, their ship was the ill-fated Angel Gabriel which was
ship-wrecked off the coast of Maine in the most intense hurricaine to hit
New England in recorded history.
