Notes:
-The Reverend James Fitch began his religious study in England at Cambridge. He emigrated to the New World with his widowed mother around the age of 16. He was trained under Reverends Hooker and Stone in Connecticut. He served as a missionary to the local natives and he was ordained minister in Saybrook, until he moved to Norwich following his first wife's death. He became a fluent speaker of the local Mohegan language, and they granted him land on which he founded the town of Lebanon, CT.
