-Richard Hildreth, father of Jane, was made Freeman May 10th, 1645. His wife Sarah died April 15, 1644, and he remarried to Elizabeth [Hinchman?]. He served many town offices, including fence viewer, selectman, surveyor of highways, and collector of fines. He lost his right hand and because of this was granted some land in 1663. He had a disptute with his son-in-law Robert Proctor in church that caused him to switch to a different church. Richard Hildreth died "aged 88" February 23, 1693/4 and left a will which survives
