Robert Noyes b.c.1520
- Of age (above 21) in 1524. Died after 1564, but probably close to
1575 having died "an old man".
- 1523: Nicholas Noyes listed in Cholderton in subsidy rolls. Taxed
21 shillings on goods valued 21 pounds.
- 1525: Listed on subsidy rolls at Cholderton.
- 1527: "first Nicholas Nowyse hath whett for the alowance for thye
feyndyng of his household xvj quarters and to sell vj quarters.. in
barley, besydes to sow xxto quarters and for the feynding of his houssold
xxti quarers an to sell xiiij quarters."
- 1540/1543: Listed on subsidy rolls in Cholderton
- His father Robert was born perhaps around 1465 in Littleton. Robert
may have been the son of Thomas Noyes of Littleton. Robert's wife was
possibly a sister of William Mondey. Robert leased the manor of
Littleton from the Abbot of the Monastery of St. Peter's of
Gloucester. In 1524, Robert's widow renewed a lease on the manor,
Robert having died before April 4, 1524.
