Notes:
- Established the first fulling mill in Rowley. When he traveled to the new world, he brought not only the machinery for the mill he built, but the wooden posts; believing that the New England wood was not hard enough. It remained the only fulling mill in New England for almost 50 years. He later also bought and ran a grist mill.
- He was first deacon of the Old Rowley church, ordained October 1686.
- Became freeman May 2, 1647.
- Was imprisoned and fined in 1687 with others for resisting policied of Governor Andros.
- At the time of his death, he was the second highest tax-payer in Rowley.
