Notes:
-Abraham Tilton was farming in Bradford and Orford, New Hampshire. In 1839 he moved his family to Whitesboro, Oneida Co., N.Y. Here he may have worked on the Erie Canal. He and Rebecca were members of the Whitesboro Baptist Church from 1839 to 1849. From Whitesboro N.Y. the family moved to Rochester N.Y., where Abraham was working as a boatman on the Erie Canal. The family was found here on the 1850 census. By 1859 Abraham and Rebecca moved to Nora, Jo Daviess Co., Illinois. [John E. Tilton. RootsWeb database = tiltonj]
