Notes:

The parents of Charles Troy are unknown. There was a Charles Troy who fought in the War of 1812, and this is likely the same Charles Troy. He fought in McDonald's regiment, Ohio Militia as a sergeant. He served from January 30 to April 10, 1814, and from Jan 11 to April 10, 1815.
-In 1820, he is listed in the census with wife and two boys under 10 years old in Madison, Illinois.
-In 1823 he signed the Constitution of the Morganian Society, an anti-slavery society of Illinois. He purchased two lots on Nov 11, one for 100 acres, and anotehr for 200 acres.
-In 1824 he appears o nthe Viter's list in Morgan County along with a Daniel Troy. He took possession of 100 acres in Morgan County, Illions on Dec 25th, 1825.
-A short bio of his son in law Robert Love says, "(Robert) was married Oct 3, 1841 to Mary A., daughter of Charles Troy, deceased. She was born Jan 5, 1824, in Morgan County, ILlinois. The Troy family were burned out by Indians and they suffered untold privations.
-His wife Lydia was remarried on January 24, 1828 so he must have died by then.
