Notes:
-There were many Wheeler family in Cranford, Bedfordshire and detangling them has been a very difficult prospect. Elizabeth's parents George and Catherine were married June 8, 1630, and immigrated to New England about 1638 with their children. They owned much property Catherine died January 2, 1684/5 in Concord, and George June 2, 1687, also in Concord.
-The identity of her grandparents has been of much debate. George is frequently associated with the "George, son of Thomas" who appears in the Cranfield baptismal register March 25, 1605, but identifying which Thomas (there were probably at least three) has been difficult. Recently, Raymond David Wheeler has identified George's father as Thomas Wheeler "of Towne End", unique from Thomas Wheeler "of Wharley End" and Thomas Wheeler "of Bourne End". This would make George's parents Thomas Wheeler and Dorothy Holloway (married Apr 13, 1600 Chalgrave, Bedforshire); and Dorothy's parents Hugh Holloway, Jr. and Alice Catworthe (married Nov 17 1566 Bedford).
