Father: possibly John Adams
Mother: Unknown
Wife: Edith Squire b.c.1587

Notes:
-Henry Adams was the ancestor of President John Adams, who erected a large stone memorial to his ancestor in the Braintree graveyard. He was born near Barton St. David, although most of the parish registers are lost for these years. His marriage record in 1609 to Edith, the daughter of Henry Squire does survive in the parish records of adjacent Chartleton Mackerell. A Henry Adams is mentioned as a son of a John Adams of Barton St. David, and they are perhaps one in the same; although claims that this Adams line is descended from a illustious "Ap Adams" line are entirely fraudulent. Henry Adams was of some wealth however, having the status of a yeoman. He brought his trade of malster to America when he immigrated around 1638, possibly first to Boston. Henry's wife survived him many years, and married secondly John Fussell. She died in 1673.
