Notes:
-Lieutenant Thomas Adams was born in England, and immigrated with his father and 7 siblings about 1638. In 1646 he moved to the western part of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Chosen for a military post in 1659, he was originally passed over because of his religious views, but he later modified his views sufficiently to be appointed. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1682. He was an early selectman of the town, and held a variety of town offices. His will is dated May 28, 1688 and he mentions his wife Mary, his sons Peletiah, Timothy, Samuel, and Jonathan, as well as his daughter Cooper and her children.
