Thomas Chamberlain first appears in the records when he was made Freeman May 29, 1644 at the court at Woburn. He appears on the Woburn tax list of 1655. Purchased 1500 acres from Gov. Thomas Dudley in Billerica, Massachusetts in 1652. He and his wife Mary removed to Chelmsford, Massachusetts. He may very well be the Thomas Chamberlain, aged 20, who said in 1635 from Gravesend, England to America. His wife Mary died December 20, 1669 in Chelmsford.
