-He served as a corporal in the revolutionary war in Capt. Samuel Stone's company of minute-men, which marched on alarm of April 19, 1775, service 14 days. Also list of men drafted Aug 19, 1777 to serve for 3 months.
-It is frequently posted that William Flagg's death date is the same
date as above, but in 1817. There is a probate administration for a
William Flagg of Ashby in 1813, and "Society of the Mayflower" records
for Lucinda Bosworth (descendant of mayflower passenger Richard Warren,
born 1876) list the date above for death. His gravestone confirms the
correct date.
