Notes:
-The definitive book, "A Book of Strattons" lists Hezekiah's wife's name as Dorothy Hubbard, with no furthur comment. This is an error. There is a marriage record of Hezekiah Stratton to Dorothy Hoar in the sudbury records, and none to Dorothy Hubbard. In NEHGR 125:65, notes on the probate of John Hoar 1767, father of Dorothy Hoar, list Hezekiah Stratton in the probate processings. Dorothy Hoar had siblings including: Nehemiah, Josiah, Mary, which were all used as names of their children. Two of their children were named after themselves, and the names used, Jonathan, Jane, Sarah, were all names of Hezekiah's siblings.
-Mentioned in Henry David Thoreau's book "Walden"!:

"In the "Wast Book"(9) of an old trader of this town, who was also a captain, town-clerk, and representative, I find the following entry. Jan. 18th, 1742-3, "John Melven Cr. by 1 Grey Fox 0—2—3"; they are not now found here; and in his ledger, Feb, 7th, 1743, Hezekiah Stratton has credit "by ½ a Catt (10) skin 0—1—4½"; of course, a wild-cat, for Stratton was a sergeant in the old French war,(11) and would not have got credit for hunting less noble game."
-Was a soldier in the French and Indian War in 1758, marching 128 miles to the relief of Fort Williams, under Ensign Jonathan Brooks.
-There is a contemporary Hezekiah Stratton in Northfield, Massachusetts
