Father: Nathaniel Turner Wife: Thomas Mix b.c.1623 - Her father Nahaniel was a Sea Captain by trade. He arrived in 1630 with the Winthrop Fleet and settled at Lynn, Massachusetts. He was admitted freeman July 1632. He served as constable 1632, representative 1634, deputy 1635. He was an early member of the Ancient and Honerable Artillery Company of Boston. He was appointed Captain and fought during the 1636-1637 Pequot War. After the war, and after his home was destroyed in a fire, he moved to New Haven and was granted propoerty. He became an assistant to the Governor, and deputy in Connecticut Assembly. In 1640 he was appointed head of all military affairs in New Haven Colony. He was called back to England on business in 1640. On a ship voyage January 1646, the ship left New Haven and was never heard from again. The ship was constructed the year before, and at 80 tons, the largest ship constructed in New England. It was intended to serve as the main trade ship between New Haven and England. Longfellow wrote a poem about this "phantom ship".

fact, the Rebecca Turner who died 1731 was the wife of Samuel Mix.
Thomas Mix left nothing to his wife in his will in 1691 so she was
probably deceased by this time.
