Notes:

-Most of the information on the ancestors of Peter Ayers Cook comes from a post in "The Boston transcript" which describes a genealogist meeting Peter Ayers cook in 1864 and writing down what he was told about his family.
-His birth record in the Haverhill, Mass town records only lists his mother, Mary Ayer, but not his father. There is a notation in the original town records (but not the published Haverhill VItal Records) that says this birth record was added later at the desire of Benjamin. Benjamin's father had died by this time, and his mothered remarried to a Peter Ayer.
-A list of Dwelling Houses in Haverhill, Mass, 1798 lists Benjamin Cook owning a $400 Dwelling.
-On Feb 10, 1810 he is listed as a 'joiner' and quitclaimed his interest in land to his step-father Daniel Lord of Bradford. Existing letters show Benjamin's land dealings buying land in New Hampshire.
-A Book on the Fifield name mentions that Benjamin and his wife later removed to Canada. The adult baptism in the Anglican Church of Benjamin and Jane (Fifield) Cook and their children of Yamaska Mountain, St. Hyacinthe, Shefford, Quebec took place 24 March 1822. Also, The children of Benjamin's son Benjamin and his daughter Mary Cook Eaton were also baptized this day. These baptism records list the birthdates of Benjamin and Jane Fifield Cook. A biography of John Eaton states his wife as Mary Ayer Cook from New Hampshire, and the census records indicate that their children were born in Canada, although they later removed to Sprinfield, Illinois. The Church of Latter Day Saints file show some the children of Benjamin Cook and Jane Fifield being married in Shefford, Quebec.
-The Shefford, Quebec Census of 1825 shows Benjamin Cook's family.
-Benjamin Cook's name appears in the stained glass windows of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Abbotsford, Quebec along with the founder's names.
-Bought land from Charles Collins Sept 9, 1825 Abbotsford.
-Sold land to Vital Lefebvre April 9, 1827, Quebec.
-March 10, 1830 a Benjamin Cook "farmer Yamaska Mountain", exchanged land with Samuel Stone of Enosbourg, Franklin County, Vermont. This could be Benjamin Sr. or Benjamin, Jr.
-The Cooks do not appear in the 1831 census of Quebec, and the 1830 US Census has two Benjamin Cook's living in Franklin County, Vermont the correct ages for this Benjamin and his son. There are burial stones there in Vermont for Jane Cook, wife of Benjamin, as well as three of the children of Benjamin's son Varnum.
-No Gravestone for Benjamin has yet been found though.
