-Applied Dec 4, 1863 for a Civil War pension. She was application # 40,033, and Certificate # 15,383
-Daughter Helen F. Smith is listed as a vestmaker living with Sophronia Byam in 1870. No husband lited with her.
-The Book, "Descendants of George Byam (?-1680)" (1975) lists children Willard Cook and Willie Cook as twins. The 1870 Census lists a Willie Cook, 9 years old. Either his twin brother died by this time, or the book is mistaken.
